Rimmel Lasting Finish Matte Lipstick by Kate Moss

There has been quite a bit of hype surrounding these.  In particular shade 107.  Being a complete sucker for a sexy and deep shade of red, I searched on and off for it in a variety of stores and months later came across it in Wilkinson at a bargainous £4.49 (or maybe it was £4.99 - it was a good price anyway!)  I fell in love with it.  I then visited Superdrug recently, and naturally after months of it eluding me, 107 was fully stocked.  I purchased another, I had to.  As they were on a 3 for 2, I decided to purchase two other shades and give them a go.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Matte Lipstick in Wine (107)107 - Wine - a deep, dark red.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Matte Lipstick in Soft Pink (101)101 - Soft Pink - a wearable light pink.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Matte Lipstick in Kiss of Life (111)111 - Kiss of Life - a proper, classic, fire engine red.

These lipsticks have such a beautiful formula.  They are creamy and apply effortlessly, they literally just glide on.  The pigmentation is fantastic and they last well.  They are called matte lipsticks but I would say although they are definitely matte, they have a slight sheen to them, especially on initial application.  This is probably why they are the least drying matte lipsticks I've ever tried!  In fact, I would go as far to say they are quite moisturising.  I would recommend giving your lips a good scrub with a lip scrub before application though as the colour is so rich you don't want it to be spoilt by bitty lips.

I adore the red and black packaging, they look so sleek.  The range currently consists of five shades and I am hoping it is a permanent range and one that will continue to grow over time.  107 is as beautiful on as I had hoped, such an amazingly deep red - perfect for winter and perfect for a vampy look.  101 was a bit of a wild card for me, I don't normally go for shades like this but I actually really like it.  It helps to whiten teeth and the blueish pink tone actually seems to really work with my skin tone, even though I am rather pale!  111 is your classic pillar box red, bright and vibrant.  I really need to be in the mood to wear this shade, but when I am, I love it.  107 is my favourite though, I would recommend it to anybody.

Rimmel's Lasting Finish Matte Lipsticks are available from Boots and Superdrug at a rather affordable £5.49.

I am sorry the photos aren't that great.  I have a new camera, one which is much better than my previous one - believe it or not!  Unfortunately though, I am struggling to find time to take pictures while there is some real daylight and no matter how much better this camera is, it's no good if the lighting is shit.  However, if I sit and wait for a free day to take some photos I will never actually get around to posting what I want to post!  Roll on Summer and longer days!
